Conference Manager comment: thank you to all of the 300+ people who have pre-registered for the Conference workshops, Dinner, Keynote, Forum and other programs. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Guelph University Centre in just under a week.

YOU CAN STILL ATTEND THE CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS BY COMING TO THE UNIVERSITY CENTRE AND PAYING AT THE DOOR – Note that parking near the University Centre this Saturday is going to be very tight, so leave an extra 10 minutes to get parked and to walk over to the U.C. Building (the one at the circular drive where the buses stop to let students off just north of the Campus Ring Road at Stone Rd. and Gordon St.)———- plan ahead !

Sorry, on-line registration is closed for this year,

please bring cash or cheque and register at the door -

room UC103, Guelph University Centre. There will be ample space available for all except for Friday 1.00 pm Seminar D and the Friday afternoon Dinner.

Thank you for supporting the 29th Annual Conference !

GUEST REGISTRATION BASICS

PARKING ON OR NEAR CAMPUS
If you are not familiar with the Guelph campus area, please take careful note: on the four corners of Stone Rd. and Gordon St., in the south end of Guelph are the following:

(a) Guelph campus (University Centre) at the northeast corner; (B) Best Western Hotel (old Ramada) at the southeast corner; (C) Delta Guelph Hotel at the southwest corner; and (D) the OMAFRA Building at the northwest corner. Less than 1/2 km south of this intersection is the Days Inn, one of the 3 cluster hotels for the Conference.

Thus, if you are staying at the Best Western, Days Inn or Delta, you will “leave your vehicle at the hotel for the weekend” and walk to the Guelph University Centre. We refer to these 3 hotels as the ‘cluster hotels.’

Likewise, for all those attendees who are enrolled in the EFAO trainings on Jan. 28-29 at the OMAFRA Building, you will either walk there from your hotel or park (and pay directly) at the OMAFRA parking lot.

For those attending the CSI Organic Info Day on Jan. 29, you will park at the Arboretum (eastern edge of Guelph campus) where parking is free. For all others (driving onto campus or staying with friends elsewhere in the area), if coming onto campus, we strongly suggest buying a paid parking pass which we offer at $12 for Thursday and $12 for Friday, guaranteeing a parking spot on campus.

The designated parking lot where this pass is to be displayed and used is not that close (let’s be honest… it’s a 400 yard walk) to the Guelph U.C. but it is “guaranteed parking.”

This parking advice is offered to you because regular paid parking on the Guelph campus gets tighter every year and you could “literally” be driving all over campus to find a scarce spot, while actually missing some of your workshop. It has happened in the past because Conf. guests did not plan ahead.

So we suggest you consider pre-purchasing this parking pass prior to arriving on campus, then walking the brisk 5 minutes over to the University Centre, for either or both of Thursday and Friday.

If you don’t want to pre-buy this pass, then the paid/cash parking on campus will run you about $8-$10 on Thursday (if available) and about $12-$16 on Friday (if available). If you want to take your chances with paid on-campus park at the spot rate, please arrive well in advance of your selected workshop time.

Option: take public transit onto the campus – multiple buses run directly to the Guelph U.C. every hour. Note that guest parking on the Guelph campus on Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 30-31…… is free !
